If I could make these without special materials or tools, for under forty dollars, so can you. Ideal for anyone with a taste for the Neo-Victorian and with too much time on their hands. The below-mentioned materials are suggestions, not requirements. Therefore, tinkering, deviating, and rule breaking are strongly encouraged.

Click here for an updated HTML version of this tutorial.

Materials used:
2 mason jar lids (detachable rings like you often see on gourmet preserves.)
tan suede leather
brass belt buckle
4 rectangular brass links
1/2-inch strip sheepshide, unshaven. Sample was cut from a chair cover
A little black oil paint
14 capnuts, 1/4 inch wide
2 wingnuts
a pack of eyelets
Grey smoked Plexiglass

That's very complicated, but very cool! It's like something you'd see in a WWII dogfight or something. :3

I plan on taking an old camera obscura, and cleaning it out to replace the lends with a digital camera on the inside.

TO GOODWILL!
